Why Give?
What is the Tithe? What is an offering?
A tithe is 10% of your income given to your local church first (rather than an after thought). An offering is anything that you give beyond that.
Why Tithe?
“Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything.” Proverbs 3:9 (NLT)
Tithing is a way to show we trust God. Tithing isn’t meant for God’s benefit (He already owns everything), but is meant for our benefit. In the natural, tithes provide for the needs of the staff and the local church. However, in the spiritual, tithes help keep our priorities right. Tithing acknowledges that God is our provider and understands we will prosper with more when we are faithful with what has been given to us.
Why Offerings?
“Offerings are the financial ‘seed’ we sow, knowing when we give, God will continue to bless us.” Luke 6:38 (NLT)
Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”
